Historic Urban Landscape: Bridging Cultures

Bilateral project between China and Italy for the implementation of the UNESCO Recommendation on the “Historic Urban Landscape – HUL” in small historic cities (2013-2020)
The project started in November 2013 with a MoU signed between the Institute for the Conservation and Valorization of Cultural Heritage of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR-ICVBC) and the World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for the Asia and the Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO (WHITRAP) aiming to promote best practices and develop a toolkit for the HUL implementation in small historic towns that brings together economic development and tourism with the interests of urban conservation and local identity. The project is developed along 4 major activities:
